Principal's Message
Parents/Guardians:
I hope this newsletter finds you well and filled with the same sense of pride and gratitude that I am experiencing as the principal of our wonderful school. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for your incredible support in helping us exceed our goal of 95% participation for the ACT. Thanks to your dedication, we achieved an outstanding 98% participation rate, a testament to our strong community spirit and commitment to our students' success.
However, our journey doesn't end here. As we move forward, our next goal is to meet and exceed this same level of participation for our 9th-grade ACT Aspire. Currently, we are at 87%, and I am confident that with your continued support, we can surpass this goal as well.
This week is an important one for our students as we have several assessments scheduled on the calendar. Please note the following dates:
- PSAT: Wednesday, April 24
- ASVAB: Thursday, April 25
- CTE Technical Skills Assessments: Thursday, April 25
Be on the lookout for additional information from our staff targeted to students who are participating in these assessments. Your encouragement and support during these testing days are invaluable to our students, so thank you for continuing to motivate and guide them.
In addition to testing, we have some exciting events planned for our students this week. Tuesday, April 23, our students will have the opportunity to participate in a presentation by Dr. Laymen Hicks. Dr. Hicks will engage our students with a message of encouragement, focusing on resilience, determination, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. We will hold four separate presentations, one for each cohort.
And let's not forget about our Spring Pep Assembly, hosted by our Student Council, which will take place on Friday, April 26. It promises to be a lively and fun-filled event for our students.
Once again, I want to express my deepest appreciation for your unwavering support of your student and Maricopa High School. Together, we can continue to empower our students to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
Sincerely,
Deana McNamee, Principal
Maricopa High School
